Scouting now has the largest number of volunteers than we've had in our entire history!
The Association's annual Census figures are out and show us that there's an incredible amount of volunteers in Scouting, but that with a sky-high waiting list for young people. We still need more volunteers.
- The Cub section is currently the most popular of all Scouting sections. There are 158,000 members of the Cub section and nearly 2,000 have joined in the last 12 months.
- Scouting in London grew by 323 young people over the last twelve months! Total membership across the capital has grown over the last five years from 45,579 members in 2012 to 49,719 members now.
Our County Commissioner, Paul O'Brien, says 'In South London, we have grown by nearly 700 members, but more adult help is needed as we have over 500 on our waiting lists across the County.'
More widely across London, we have 3,585 Young People on our waiting lists who are missing out on what Scouting has to offer and we need your help!
